The MacKenzie Royal Suite is Glenlaurel’s most elegant second-floor retreat in the Manor House, inspired by the Scottish tradition of keeping a room fit for a queen. It feels like a true escape from the outside world, with rich fabrics, dark oak finishes, and a quiet, tucked-away atmosphere that suits couples looking for an elevated stay at a Hocking Hills inn.
The suite invites you to slow down the moment you arrive. A half-canopied king bed faces the warmth of a Franklin stove, with a fainting sofa nearby for lingering conversation or an unhurried evening in. A cozy reading chair is tucked into a corner nook, and a quaint writing table sits beneath corner windows that look out to the woods, perfect for journaling, letters, or simply watching the light change through the trees.
In the private bath, you will find thoughtful touches that make the suite stand out, including a generous, brand-new two-person shower that will help you unwind and ease into your getaway in Hocking County. After a day sipping wine at nearby Ohio Wineries or exploring charming towns like Nelsonville, returning to the MacKenzie feels like stepping into a quieter, more refined world.
"I took my wife here for a long weekend after she finished her Doctorate. This was our first time at Glenlaurel and to say the least we were very impressed. The grounds are majestic with all the floral plants and bushes surrounding the spectacular Inn and sitting areas. It is a prestine look with a calming effect for the guests. Our room was the MacKenzie Royal Suite and everything from the decorations to the furniture was first class. "
