Hocking Hills Cabin Getaways
Enjoy the luxurious and private Hocking Hills cabins at Glenlaurel. We offer luxury getaway cabins in two different formats: cozy crofts and charming cottages.
A croft is a smaller version of a cottage. A croft is about 450 square feet, whereas a cottage is about 700 square feet. In Scotland, the word “croft” is used to describe a small farmstead with a house, a barn, and a small paddock or fenced barnyard. We use the term to distinguish a smaller cabin unit from one of our larger cabin units. Glenlaurel has four East Crofts on Thistle Ridge overlooking the Camusfearna Gorge, and three West Crofts in the Hamlet overlooking Bannock Burn Ravine.
East Crofts
The four East Crofts are charming getaway cabins that are a five-minute walk from the Manor House, with parking near the front croft door. Each croft has a kitchenette, living room, king bed, gas-log fireplace, screened porch, and a hot tub on a private deck overlooking Camusfearna Gorge.
West Crofts
In the West Crofts, each unit features one spacious room with a king-size bed overlooking a massive stone fireplace. An entertainment center for playing DVDs or videos is tucked in the corner, while cozy fireside chairs or a loveseat invite quiet conversation by the warm, glowing fire.
Each unit includes a small kitchenette area and a spacious bathroom with a shower for two. Step outside onto your large private deck, complete with a hot tub and lounge chairs—perfect for relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Hocking Hills Cottages
An outside light is burning brightly to welcome you home! Prepare to immerse yourself in Scottish history when staying in our Hocking Hills getaway cabins at Glenlaurel. The Highland setting surrounds you further as you look through the large living room windows. A breathtaking view of the woods awaits with a seasonally changing mural of the ever-changing faces of nature.
Our inviting stone fireplaces and Franklin stoves complete our restful atmosphere. Indulge in intimate moments in the small kitchenettes equipped with a table for two to share a hot cup of tea or coffee, a snack, or a romantic in-room dinner.
When you’re ready to unwind, the bedroom hosts a luxurious king sleigh bed, complete with an entertainment center. The choice is yours for a cozy movie night or to listen to sweet melodies!
You’ll find a sink, vanity, and closet, all discreetly tucked away in the separate dressing area, giving you the space you need to prepare for your day or unwind after a long one.
A sanctuary in nature is yours as soon as you open the double French doors in the bedroom. Anticipate a relaxing hot tub soak, the quiet sounds of nature, and the fresh evening air. Hidden away among the lush greenery, the hammocks offer a secluded retreat for lovers to bask in the tranquil beauty near the secret gardens. If you listen closely, you’ll hear the gurgle of our legendary Camusfearna Gorge in the nearby woods!

The Perfect Couple's Getaway
The Glenlaurel Inn is our getaway place to relax and enjoy time together, no chores waiting, no distractions. The cottages are designed just for that. They now have Roku available, plus lots of DVDs to borrow. The kitchenette is well designed, including a Keurig coffee maker and microwave. This time it was too cold for the hot tub, but we are hoping for better weather in February, when we will return. When it is clear, the stars are spectacular. Technically it is not a dark sky, but very close to it.
