The MacIntosh Cottage is one of the most distinctive among our Hocking Hills cabins. Inspired by Glasgow-born architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his artistic collaborator and wife Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh, the cottage carries a mission-style aesthetic with creative details throughout. Thoughtful design elements include abstract “kissing butterflies” carved into the mantel—a subtle tribute to the couple’s signature Art Nouveau–inspired style.
The layout is made for couples who want space to unwind during their Hocking Hills getaways. The bath suite includes a walk-in closet, a vanity setup for two, and all the essentials for an easy reset. An inner bath suite adds a shower stall and thoughtful conveniences, keeping the flow simple and comfortable. On chilly Hocking Hills evenings, two fireplaces, one in the sitting area and another in the bedroom, create a warm glow that makes staying in feel like the best plan.
In the bedroom, a king bed anchors the space, and double French doors open to your private hot tub, inviting a long soak with nothing but the quiet sounds of nature around you. After a day at nearby Ohio Wineries, state parks, and charming towns, this cottage is a soothing place to return to.
"We loved our stay at Glenlaurel. Macintosh cabin was so cozy, with a lovely view of the woods and private hot tub. We were amazed at how great the short trails were on the property! No corners were cut here. Would highly recommend this place for a couples retreat. "
